I am a lady with many creative passions. The outdoors is where I find the most peace and pure joy.

While hiking, taking a walk, visiting a friend or doing errands, I always come home with my pockets overflowing with pinecones, pods, acorns and any other interesting weed or leaf that I found on my day’s journey. {I do carry several folded bags in my pockets now.}

Whether alone or with family and friends, I have always been keenly aware of my surroundings. Nature is abundantly beautiful and I am sincerely enthralled with it all.

Collecting pieces of Nature has always been part of my life since childhood.

Where trees are located or a patch of weeds that will become glorious pods at seasons end, are quietly etched on my mind.

Long before the internet, I taught classes on how to make Pine Cone Wreaths, Decorations and Ornaments with Pinecones & Podz. My giant Coulter Pinecones were always a hit with the Boy and Girl Scouts. I enjoyed teaching about the many different types of trees and how to identify what they are.

Nowadays, whenever I find something new and interesting in my travels, I can pop onto the web and research “What is it?”

Some would say I’m “nuts” {pun intended} but most have come to realize that I am passionate about what I now do for a living.

I sold my business to another company and said goodbye to corporate world when my first child was born. I still consulted on jobs as needed, but after my third child was born, there was just no time! I thought the rat-race was finally over. Geez was I wrong!

I got divorced {Yaay!} when my youngest was only 3, leaving me to raise all three kids on my own. My bankroll of money was gone. {Guess why? or should I say who?!}

Now what do I do!!??

My perfect little world with my three beautiful children had crumbled. How am I going to pay the bills or feed my family??

Mother Nature stepped in…literally.

With all my knowledge, love and devotion for our great outdoors, Pinecones & Podz was created and the nickname I have had all my life became “official” – PineConeLady!

Having lived all over the USA, I amassed quite an extraordinary collection of Pinecones, Pods, Acorns and other goodies. Being an avid Hiker and Nature Crafter, I realized that people didn’t have access to all the different types of pinecones & podz that I did. Most designers and crafters were stuck with the broken crappy stuff they found in craft stores. The really nice things were always too expensive!

So I set out on my mission . . . to help Nature Crafters all over the world!

Pinecones & Podz provides only excellent quality Pinecones & Pods. Nothing broken. Nothing ugly.

Everything we sell to floral designers, crafters and stores are all hand-picked to assure they receive the best we have. If I wouldn’t use it, I won’t sell it.

For the past 11 years I have been focused on building my dream and dragging my family along for the ride.

My kids and my boyfriend at the time, were the original members of Pinecones & Podz. My folks and other family members and friends helped gather cones from their neck of the woods. I think a lot of them were truly surprized how much fun harvesting can be!

There are so many different Trees and Conifers {Evergreen trees} all over the world. The pinecones you find in your yard is based on your location. With that in mind, I contacted harvesters from around the world, seeking wonderful pods and pinecones to provide an interesting assortment of Nature Craft Supplies for my growing client list.
